Multislice spiral tomography

A computed tomography (CT) scan uses a series of x-rays taken from various angles around the body, taking advantage of computer processing to generate cross-sectional images, also known as slices, of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues present in the body. These images, obtained using CT scans, offer more precise details compared to conventional x-rays.

The usefulness of computed tomography covers various purposes, highlighting its ability to quickly examine individuals who may have internal injuries resulting from automobile accidents or other types of trauma. This diagnostic method can be applied to visualize virtually all areas of the body, facilitating the identification of diseases or injuries, as well as the planning of medical, surgical or radiation treatments.
